Breckenridge, CO...here we come! (Day 1)

On July 31st we left for Breckenridge, CO with my family.  Unfortunately Travis couldn't join us on this vacation because he is busy doing his veterinary internship at The Ohio State University...we missed him.

Porter at the airport in Denver after enjoying a blue lollipop on the airplane

From the airport we had a little time to kill before we were able to check into our house so John found a Casa Bonita where we could go eat lunch.  There was a Casa Bonita in Oklahoma where John went to college and he had fond memories of this place so he was super excited to go and introduce us all to an old friend.
Johnny - eyes on the road please
Grandma Karen caught Porter in the mirror
Casa Bonita in all it's glory!
Porter was a fan of the fountains
Jake was a fan of their choice in soda
We were all instructed to get the "all you can eat" meal by Johnny...we soon learned that this may be the reason he had such fond memories of this place as a college student....
All you can eat = a lot of food for not a lot of money = happy male college students = many years later, less than enthused reviews from family
 How you doin there Jake?
Ok this place was super wacky and kind of like an amusement park.  They employ a cliff diver who entertains you while you eat.  This picture is not great, but there is a cliff diver in the middle left of this pic with his back to us about to do a less than exciting dive.
 Porter is entertained
 Tyler and Lauren are not
I know, I know, as if the cliff diver was not enough....that is the staff doing the...yep, you guessed it, Macarena!  And yes, that is the cliff diver dressed up as a gorilla joining in on the fun.  Wow!  Casa Bonita, you really outdid yourself with this one.
We found other forms of entertainment
We arrived safely at our rental house.  Lauren and Grandma Karen ran around taking pictures of the place.
Porter at the end of the night ready to go to bed after a long day.

Brandon, Michelle and family arrived at some point today from Minnesota and we all went to a yummy burger place called Empire Burger that had some really tasty dipping sauces.

Another picture filled blog...that's the way to do it. I love the Mexican restaurant shots...i sure wish I were there pounding down the food. The house looks huge and spacious. Fun times.

I am appalled that there is more than one Casa Bonita in the world. (My sister used to work there back in the day.)
